My wife needs a new saddle - she can't get comfy on the one that came with her bike (a Rockhopper), which I imagine was designed with men in mind.
I know it's all a very personal thing at the best of times, but are there any female-specific, or at least female-sensitive, saddles that anyone here would recommend?
Any personal experience or suggestions very welcome!

Pop to specialized shop and get her butt measured (or do it at home, video are on youtube), the ladies seem to suffer more from saddle being too narrow.
Can’t remember the brand that my misses has (its an Italian one thought) but same as said before go and get her bottom measured and a seat to match. The local bike (more road than mbt) did it for my misses and even gave a two week trial period if she didn’t get along with it.

Recently bought my wife a Madison Strata to replace the massive gel 'Bioflex' (or something like that) monstrosity on her MTB.
She was very sceptical, but pleasantly surprised after the first ride.
My wife's just got an ergon sr sports gel and is finding it great so far

A narrow saddle is better for long rides, allowing you to pedal without rubbing the insides of your legs. Try sliding to and fro to relieve different areas on your ride. Wider saddles tend to have more padding, making them softer, but they tend to keep you fixed in one position.
