I am lost for words right now, but I thought it appropriate I post something on here as Brian 'messiah' Goldsworthy was a regular poster, and I know quite a few of you met him over the years.
Brian passed away yesterday while on a solo ride around his local trails on the outskirts of Stonehaven. He was only 43.
I can't think of anything else to say at the moment, my head is a complete mess, so I'll just post a photo of Brian larking about on top of a hill. I've been looking back through my photo collections and I don't think I've got any sensible photos of him. RIP Mr G.

Jesus that's terrible, such a young age, RIP 🙁
Sad news indeed, thoughts with his family and friends. So young 🙁
43, wow that's young. Poor bastard. Didn't know him but condolences to those who did.
Sad news indeed. I'm 42 - makes you think....
Bloody hell that's awful. Thoughts with his friends and family 😐

What a day to have your last ride

What terrible news. Never met in person but always enjoyed his demeanour on here...
Very Sad news, Ride In Peace
Bloody hell... RIP
Chiefgroove has articulated what i was thinking. Never met him but gutted - thoughts with his family/friends
Rob - no he wasn't ill as such but he'd been off the bike since January due to a problem he described as 'muscular'. It appears it was more serious than that.
holy christ that is absolutly shocking!
he was always really helpful on here and if its whom im thinking it is with the nicolai?! (and possibly had a new one on order too?!)
totally gutting, very sad indeed heart goes out to his family
RIP, Happy trails forevermore
Jeez that's sad news.
My thoughts go out to his family and friends. RIP Messiah, Ride on
Lost for words realy. I only knew him from buying his old Nicolai frame recently. Realy nice helpful and friendly guy. As above, thoughts are with his family and friends 😥
🙁
Thoughts to his friends and family.
Terrible news, thoughts to his family and friends.

Rip fella
Small consolation, but it sounds like he was doing something he loved until the very end...
How awful. Thoughts are with friends and family.
"Rob - no he wasn't ill as such but he'd been off the bike since January due to a problem he described as 'muscular'. It appears it was more serious than that."
Very sad news, being 44 myself and riding with others a year or 2 around my age, we always moan about aches and pains especially after a few hours on the trails but just put it down to being "not as young as we used to be". Makes you think doesn't it.
Thoughts to his family.
I'm another who's 43 in a couple of years. Always ride alone too. Sad day. I guess it does count for something that he was doing what he loved at the end. 43 is just way way too young!! 😥
Totally gut wrenching to hear this.
I was only just looking at his photo in the 'big drop-off' thread.
Thoughts go out to his friends and family.
Thanks for finding the time to let us know Yetiman.
Shocking news. Never knowingly met the bloke, although he's close enough that we may have passed on the trails and I always enjoyed his posts. R.I.P. and condolences to those who loved him.
Thanks for all the kind words. He was definitely one of life’s nice guys, a devoted husband and father, and a serious mountain bike addict. I think yesterday was his first ride on a Ragley Big Wig he recently built while waiting on his new Nicolai ION frame to arrive in April.
Reported the thread to ask for it to be made a sticky.
Edit - thanks mods.
Blimey, no idea who he is but that's terrible, however if I got to choose how I go out it'd be riding on a day like yesterday
Hope he's riding some sweet singletrack right now 😥
RIP Fella.
Enjoy life while you can folks.
🙁 Terrible news, didn't know the guy but it still takes the wind out of your sails when you hear about someone of a similar age to you with similar interests dying far to young. Thoughts with his family.
RIP, condolences to his family and friends.
I'll await his second coming.
It's pretty awful looking at his posting history and seeing just how out of the blue this sort of thing can be - he was talking about his new carbon rims being on the way about three days ago 🙁
A good reminder to live life while you can...
I think yesterday was his first ride on a Ragley Big Wig he recently built
What a way to go 😐
Didn't know him in real life but felt like I sort of did on here a bit, a fellow mmmBop rider and we seemed to post on similar threads. One of the good guys 🙁
Although I'd never met him, it's certainly a name (username) that stick out.
No age at all. Very sad.
Really sad news - I knew him through work in the bike trade many years ago. Sadly the last time I saw him was last year at the funeral of an ex-colleague of ours who wasn't much older either.
RIP Brian.
Shocking news. Younger than me. Condolences to his family and friends.
Very sad news.
Wasn't he the "wok smuggler"?
I shall dedicate this evenings ride to his memory. Ride on fella!
Wasn't he the "wok smuggler"?
That's Sheldon/Tollah. I'm pleased to say that he's still alive and well.
