Hi all,

I've been running 2x9 on both MTBs since 2009, and put up with poor chain lines in the lower gears. I'm using a HTII bottom bracket and a 32/42 chainring set on the middle and outer of an XT chainset (same on both bikes) - has anybody experimented with chain line spacing using the HTII spacers? I imagine that this would mess up the pedals (one closer to the frame than the other??

It works but it could be better... I'm considering a 2x10 chainset.

Its probably not going to make for an ideal pedalling position if you are chasing points in the world cup but I would bet that a few mm here or there would not make a big difference in the wider scheme. Depending what pedals you run you may be able to adjust the effective pedal/foot position by shuffling the cleats to negate the effect of the left crank being that bit further out.

Thats what I expected to hear - do you know if there is there any way of measuring the chain-line to get the best position?
