Evening all, bit of a long shot but would anyone have any ideas on the most suitable type of cutting wheel/ disc for removing rubber from the inside of some engine inlet trumpets?
Trying to utilise the stock rubber inlets as collars to take alloy bell mouths, so need to remove about 1.5 mm from the inside surface. Dremel cutters are not really working too well.

I'd look at lino cutting tools.
A couple of thoughts. Would it be possible to stretch the rubbers by the amount required buy immersing them in hot water then stretching them until the bellmouths will will fit ?
Failing that do a Google for " carbide burr" These might prove more effective than the Dremel cutters.

Thanks for the suggestions gents, Davesport, "carbide burr" might just do it. Was trying to avoid the slight step down that forcing the bell mouths in would give, though it probably wouldn't cause any problems.
What I'm probably doing is f***ing up a perfectly 1050 speed triple by fiddling with it instead of just getting on and using it ! Mind you, why change the habits of a lifetime 😀
Cool down the rubber to make it harder and then use the rubber wheel attachment with sand paper rings.
You could leave the part outside tonight to cool down and then use compressed air to keep cooling it.
How did this go ?
