I've got a pair of '08 Tora 318 coils that have developed a bit of an oil leak. They're leaking from around the rebound adjuster on the bottom of the leg, and it seems worse if the rebound is set to it's fastest.
It's only leaking a tiny amount at the moment (more like weeping out and only when the forks are compressed hard) but I don't want to risk it getting worse.
Any advise on the cause or a fix would be much appreciated!
Most likely to be leaking through the seal head that the damper shaft runs through at the base of the stanchion. Other symptoms that may not have shown up yet are loss of travel as the lowers fill with oil, and loss of lock-out as the oil it requires disappears into the lower leg.
So far I've not noticed any loss of travel or lockout, but the rebound seems a little slower than it should be. They were due a service anyway so I'll take a look at replacing the seals when I've got them apart and hopefully revive them.
Thanks for your help!
