Had mine 10 months; needed one bleed, new lever (broke when I fell off) and there's a bit of sideways play.

No issues with mine yet (5 rides old).

£180 from CRC if you use a £10 voucher and a cashback website.

In use I absolutely love it, but my four month old one is currently back at SRAM having lost pressure last week. How I feel about this will depend on how long it takes to get it back and if the problem re-occurs (or indeed how often).

Mine was from the first batch so fingers crossed that whatever they do improves reliability and that it's fixed quickly.

PS - I'm buying another for my other bike anyway.

Just got mine, haven't ridden very far with it yet, but I have shortened the hose and it still works brilliantly.

I saw someone at Cannock, on Saturday, who's Reverb had just stuck right down and was refusing to re-extend. Anyone else suffered this?

Yup - sticking down, thats what mine did when it lost all air pressure. It was losing pressure on the last ride I did and I had to pull it up to lock it at full height, back in the garage the next day and it would not come up at all. I pumped it up and I could see and hear the leak from the bottom seals - hope to get it back in the next day or so.

I am hard on kit so I was going to wait for generation two but I wanted it for the Macavalanche so got an early one. Love it.

None fourth months use. Goes up goes down. Great bit of kit. Only thing I do is very lightly lube the seal at the top and wipe clean the post to keep it smooth. But thats all.

So when they're being retruned to SRAM, are people sending them direct, or do they have to go via a dealer?

I rang sram uk and was informed it needs to go to a dealer to log the warranty work, in my case it was not the dealer I bought it from but the shop are doing the leg work and I will pay the postage.

After a couple of months daily use and a particularly crappy (weather wise, the trip itself was great) week on the Alps mine has developed a little bit of play, but not as much as the Joplins I've had.

Bottom seals blown on mine on first decent descent (whites) after 4 rides. Sent back via Merlin. Then it came back with the stanchion all scratched up badly, sent back again. Now it has come back and they haven't quite aligned the post correctly with the bottom section so the RS logo is off to the left hand side when the saddle is straight. Not impressed. Can't be fudged to send it back again. I'm sure it will pack up next proper ride. If it does I will be asking for a refund.

Never be an early adopter.

early adopter isnt strictly true is it, gravity dropper/joplin have been around for at least 4 years now?

fwiw ive got a gravity dropper with an ibeam clamp and its been faultless since i got it at the start of the summer including a hammering in the alps for a week

What are the symptoms of needing a bleed?

Mine works perfectly and is circa 3 months old. My mate bought one from CRC and it lost pressure after 2 rides and he was told it would be at least 2 weeks to get it back. He ended up buying a Command Post instead that he seems happy with.

Slow to go up, won't go all the way up etc... pretty much the same as losing all the air 😆

um I was referring to buying one of the first reverbs, not there are other types of dropper posts out there that may / may not be more reliable.

Anyways I'm bitter, a friend who is a bigger bloke than me has a newer version and it survived a week in morzine when I was telling him it was going to fail like mine....

I think if you get a duff one it fails pretty fast, if you make it though 4 or 5 hard rides you probably got a good one.

Had mine about 4 months and a fair amount of riding, including up/down Snowdon. Shortened the hose easily, it's been faultless so far.
