It's not a major one, but the rebound adjust has siezed. I presume that it is actually corroded solid, though it is slightly bent in, toward the the wheel.
I gripped it with pliers to loosen, but all that does is unscrew the bolt holding the the fork together.
Any experience of this? I'm going to soak the area in oil to see if I can unseize it.
Cheers!
Sounds more like it's been bashed hard enough to jam it rather than corroded in place.
I'd undo it (with the bolt) and then try and get them separated off the fork - I suspect that a hammer will probably need to be involved 🙂
That happened to mine after four months winter riding. And the +air chamber was leaking and needed to be topped up every two or three rides. Fortunately I've a mate who manages a bike shop and he rebuilt them for me, they're fine now and work better than they did when they were new. I bought mine on the back of a set of 2006 Rebas which have been excellent and faultless since new, still never even needed a service. The 2008 Revs which I've got don't seem to be as reliable.

The only problem with that story is that the rebound adjuster is on the right leg, and the air chambers in the left leg...........

Oh, they do need a service, they really really do!
🙂
Hi Peter,
I don't think the two problems were related in any way, just saying that the fork hasn't been as reliable as my Rebas - Two things went wrong at around the same time, due to winter mileage I presume. They've been fine since the rebuild around Jan/Feb.
