Has anyone had their dual positions decide to be single position short travel? If so does a seal kit fix it or is there more to it?
Mine can be manually pulled back to full travel, where they will stay for a couple of bumps but will then return to the short travel position. Theyre 2012 RCT3 Dual positions 150/120mm. I havent opened them up to investigate yet but want full travel for the EWS so dont have long if they need to be sent off 🙁
Any help would be appreciated
Sram/RS Warranty is 2 years.
I'll check but have a feeling I've had them about 2 1/2 years as with lots of bike stuff 2012 models were available half way through 2011.
Yep, got them at the start of 2012 so out of warranty by 3 months 🙁
For anyone interested I serviced the forks with a kit i found that came with them and they are now working. I didnt do anything in the actual dual position unit but changed the seals between positive and negative chambers and also cleaned up and regreased. Could have been the seals or just needed all air removing from all chambers and repressurising. Either way its now working correctly...
