[#2348210]

After a bit of advice if possible. I recently bought some second hand Rock Shox Revelation Dual Air U-Turn forks. Fitted them, went for a ride and noticed a fair bit of 'shudder' under heavy braking. I assume the bushings are shot, which isnt ideal.

So my question is do i invest more money on these forks and get them up together or swap them out for something better?

If i go for swapping them out what should i go for? I've heard good things about Pikes and Talas? Im riding mostly cross country, single track, bridleways etc.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

There's not much more suited for what you describe there tbh. I'd say give them to an expert for a quote, if they're beyond reasonable repair they'll tell you. Pikes would be far less suited, they're the hardcore equivalent. There's loads of different TALAS forks, it's just Fox's name for travel adjust. They're all good mind but if you want to run at shorter travel a lot of the time, u-turn is better. (TALAS is faster to adjust but less adjustable, and works slightly less well on reduced travel than it does at full)

Cheers for the info. Im not really up on all the adjustments with the forks of today. I had a pair of Z2 light forks on my last race bike (few years ago) and i couldn't fault them, they were amazing. Might have to go back to actual springs as im not overly fussed about lockout or travel adjust. Unless im missing something?

Are they the maxle model? Well worth making sure it's done up properly. Then double check your headset is tight and your front brake done up properly. Sounds obvious but worth a check. If none of this works then get them to FT Tuned, they made my Revelations feel fantastic.
