Just put my Pikes back into action after 2 years.I have a pop loc model. When I switch the lock out off, instead of the fork becoming active it stays locked - the mechanism (spring?) used to return the fork to active isn't working properly - I can return it to active manually by twisting the dial on the top of the leg. Its not the poploc mechanism being gunked up as I've disconnected it to check.
Anyone had a similar issue and fixed it?
possibly dirt in the dial. Remove the circlip, clean under the blue dial with isoprop, lube the o-rings with suspension grease and reassemble
Have tried that Retro, but it mad no difference - as though its something in the internal workings?
So there's still spring resistance in the blue knob, but not the remote?
New cable perhaps?
Wapcow - the problem is the lack of spring resistance in the blue knob - hence i am moving it back to "open" manually rather than it happening automatically when the lock is released - I've put a new inner & outer cable on anyway
Then you need to get inside the damper and see how the spring looks. If it's come off its little hook there's a guide on here somewhere about how to remove it, but it just about works backwards for re-attaching too. It's an absolute PITA to do though. Expect to swear a lot (or pay someone else to have a look).
Thanks Wapcow - I was hoping it wasn't going to involve a particularly fiddly, PITA malarkey to sort, now I know I think I'll leave well enough alone - its not a big deal!
