Hi, I'm an older rider (50) and fairly new to MTB and just starting to get my head around front and rear suspension settings/setups. My bike is a 2012 Nukeproof Mega AM 160mm upfront and 150mm rear. I built it up mostly with second hand parts from here, Singletrack classifieds. I'm thinking of updating my tired looking but working Monarch RT3 M/H3 tuned shock with a Monarch R Plus M/M tuned. I'm a heavyish rider 210 lbs all in. I ride a variety of places like Llandegla, Antur Stiniog and the Marin trail but I prefer the downhill bits rather than the XC. I've been told my riding style is fast, heavy and clumsy which sounds about right, I like getting a bit of air and I land heavy probably due to lack of skill/experience. I've had a google about regarding specific tunes etc but would just like to read someone elses thoughts on this tuning thing. Main reason I'm thinking of the R Plus is it's within my price bracket. Would I notice much of a difference with the R Plus M/M tune?
