Out of the last two items I posted, one went missing and the other eventually turned up after about two weeks

Im still waiting for soeem bars from CRC after 2 weeks, mate ordered some shoes from CRC last week and they arrived in about 2 days.

I think the new stuff is being sorted before the big pile in the corner from 2 weeks ago.

Have you been to your local sorting office to try and collect any mail that they have not been able to get to you?

You'd think the posties would be strapping tennis racquets to their feet and struggling out through the snow this week to get their Christmas tips.

Had a crisp £20 waiting for mine this morning and he didn't show up to claim it.

I'll spend it on a new stem instead if he's not careful.

very slow here too (Leeds)

I went to our local delivery centre to collect a couple of parcels and the guy on the counter said that it was the worst he had seen in his 30 years working for RM.
I asked if it was the weather and he said "Royal Mail may tell you that but its just a convenient excuse"

This may sound stupid, but has anyone noticed the snow over the past few weeks? That, and it's almost Christmas, so is the busiest time of the year?

UK Bikestore delivery ordered Friday, arrived today in Bristol.

I'm surprised at the OP's question, do you not watch / read the news?

Some offices are dealing with the seasonal rush better than others.

The one I work at is clearing it's workload daily , everything that gets through is being delivered , the main problem in Leeds is at the central hub where the staff have always found motivation hard to come by. There was a company directive the other week saying that parcels should be given priority due to the expected Christmas rush however they don't appear to have taken much notice of it.

royal mail dont consider an item delayed unless its 14working days I believe. we're so used to only taking a few days I guess..

We had a missed delivery card from RM yesterday (Sunday) and I also saw posties in Stafford working, so some folks are doing their best to shift what is delayed.

There are massive backlogs of mail due to the adverse weather conditions & large Christmas postings.
The well being of staff has to be the priority even though Royal Mail want it's customers to get their mail.
Conditions under foot are trecharous & unfortunatley this means that deliveries have had to be suspended in some delivery offices across the country.
RM and it's staff are doing there vest to ensure all the delayed items will get to you in time for Christmas......we just need some milder temperatures!

that may be.. but when i went to the sorting office to collect my mail in person a couple of weeks ago, due to the post not delivering to my flat because of the snow, btw sorting office is less than a 3rd of a mile away from me... i was told that they have a terrible back log due to the weather and are running a limited service, also they would not hand out mail unless carded.. even though i had ID and i go there on a regular basis for near 10 years.. I even know them by name... surely handing me my mail would go to helping the situation 😯 ... useless orginisation... 😈 👿 😈

Maybe they find your hanging around there a little creepy and just wish you would stay away 😉

I ordered some stuff from backpackinglight on friday morning. The order was posted in the afternoon and delivered saturday at 9am by the postie. A few other bits and bobs ordered midweek either turned up saturday or today.

I am however still waiting on two orders from amazon, dispatched around the 9th 🙁

No post for a week now.

Mind, the weather is exceptional and some posties may be having problems getting in let alone doing their rounds. At least there will be a bumper bundle of stuff when it quietens down!

we have similar to above. my postie said that it is the stuff from the start of the month that is in backlog. things that were sent recently have been going through as normal. Although that was before it snowed in the Sarf and suddenly became news...

My Postie arrived this morning with a handful of letters and packages for me. He said they weren’t allowed out on Monday due to H&S but I was now up to date. Said he’d try and get out tomorrow but if more snow falls they’ll probably be grounded again.

Not sure how far his round is but he runs it every morning!

Still waiting for an ebay purchase made on 9th though.

Stuff I ordered from Amazon 2 weeks ago hasn't come despite tracking saying it is at the local distribution centre, yet stuff ordered from an amazon marketplace company after this came last week via DHL so it definitely seems to be the Royal Mail that is the weak link.
