[#9694207]

I'm planning on swapping some components between bikes. One swap will see me trying to install some sram rival hydro levers/calipers to a bike that has internal routing.

I'm assuming I need to release the hose from the caliper end, but how do I then thread/waggle the hose through the frame without hydro fluid leaking everywhere.

Should I just tape the end up with insulating tape or is a proper cap available?

Cheers

I thought that may be the case.

The brake fluid in sram isn't very nice though is it?

It's DOT 4 fluid so strips paint. Give it a good hose down afterwards.

Perhaps after disconnecting give the lever a gentle squeeze to push a bit of fluid out the end of the hose into a container. Then let go, and the last bit of the hose will have air rather than fluid and you'll probably find that hardly any more comes out. Also unbolt the lever and let it hang down so that you've got gravity on your side.

See if you can get hold of a red barb from a reverb fitting kit to plug the hose, and connect it to an offcut with no fluid in to pull it through with if needed.

Road bike then with Rival.... I'd use new hoses to route it internally. he good side is, once done, you won't need to replace like manual cables in anything lake the same frequency.

LBS if you can't do it..
