Me and the little lady are off to Porlock in the Pikeyvan for the weekend, taking the bikes.
There are lots of bridleways on the map, but would anyone care to suggest a decent way of linking them up? Ideally starting and finishing in Porlock, so we can ride from the campsite.
Looking for something 30k-ish, not too gnarr-core as she's a relative newby. Whoopy and swoopy rather than fast and techy preferred.
Ooooh, you are in for a treat! Some of my favourite riding in the world is down there.

You could pick out any of the bridleways on there and have a good ride, but I particularly recommend:

Smashing, cheers fella.
I'm with 16stonepig on this one, if the weather is like this today, it is some of the best riding going, some steep hills, but worth everyone for the views and the descents.
Loop from Porlock - Selworthy beacon, Dunster, Dunkery Beacon & back?
Some cracking trails, views climbs & descents
Get youself up onto North hill and ride into Minehead.
Search for eviljoe he was very helpful around that area.
I second, third and forth all the comments here, amazing riding - good mix of trail types from moorland double track to techie stuff in the woods and off Dunkery. Man made DH too on Wotton Common.
Straight from Porlock up Horner Wood is lovely, following the streams at the bottom (shame about the viscous road climb out of the village though...).
Selworth is good for a relative beginner, easy trails when you're up there and great views.
All this and some of the best tea shops going too!
I'm jealous frankly, havent been able to get down there this year yet.
ps - stay at Sparkhayes rather than the posh site next door
Cheers chaps, sounds like we're onto a winner
And we're booked in to Sparkhayes ๐
One of the best descents is from the top of Dunkery Beacon to Brockwell.Nice and stoney.Lot of hard climbs around there.Going down end of April.Loads around there. As said above North Hill,Bossington.Wooton Courtney.Been riding down there for 22 years very quiet.Have fun.
Jealous! I love Sparkhayes - one of my favourite campsites, nice and laid back.
