Looking for some mtb routes around the Dudley and Stourbridge area, taking my niece and nephew out. (12 & 14)

Not Clent, any others worth looking at? Anything up to around 10 or 12k.

Canals are always a nice ride although not strictly mtb'ing?

There are a few bits of woodland you can nip off into and you'll get them to ride further, more easily.

Kinver is probably the easy choice but you're also not far from the Lickeys or Wyre forest.

If you're driving park up at the Cat in Enville and take the Staffordshire Way (?) into Kinver, lopp around then head back.

You're not far from the Million there either if they've still got a bit more in the legs.

I live in stourbridge and there's some decent trails if you know where to look. County lane Norton is a good starting point and either go out towards blakedown or towards the roman road and the rugby club. Good mix of bridleways and woodland which you can easily link up for 10k or so

Round the back of the castle and the priory was always fun - I seem to remember doing a race there in 94? Lots of subsidence and fun whoops to ride.

Kinver edge can be looped enough times without repeating, to get a good fun ride in (and ride no further than 3 miles from your car) or just be used as part of a ride.
As per Luke it's possible to ride off road (not challenging but..) on the stourbridge side of the canal from the K'ford Summerhill school down to just above cookley (and further to blakedown, though that further in from the canal), so at any point you can use the canal to return.
Highgate common/ million woods (admittedly a mess atm with forest work) via enville can be looped into a Kinver start/finish easily.
You have castle hill (behind kinver edge) to loop around via the Bodenham arboretum.
Quite a few bridle paths around to make numerous loops, though a lot of sand to content with.

Mounty, is your profile picture the start of the ankle cracker? Looks good anyway! Hope you're well mate. Neil (Beermonster), me and a couple of other lads regularly ride around Kinver on a Wednesday evening, could show you a bit around there if you like.

Normally start on the canal around 6.30 - 7.00 and head out for a couple of hours.
