Posted on here last week asking for recommendations for an app that lets you know what you've done....time, distance, average moving speed, altitude etc and was directed towards My Track which was just what I was looking for. Now i'm wondering if there's an app which lets you plan/download routes on to your phone that tells you where to go, follow the direction of the arrow on screen kind of thing?
if you have access to memeory map then MM Tracker is absolutely brilliant.
You can download maps and routes from memnory map (very simple process)so you don't need phone connection to view them, it's super fast and accurate.
There are quite a few. The all singing one is ViewRanger that allows you to follow a route but there is a cost.
At the moment I use Maverick on the phone and upload/download routes using GPsies.
I wrote this a while ago if you interested on getting maps in to your phone.
Maverick does not allow you to follow a route (as you asked) but it does allow you to where you've been, where you are in a whole range of maps which you can download offline and is all free - FAB.
Thanks
