Morning All,

I know the area reasonably well but currently stuck for an interesting link between the car park once you've dropped off Stanage Edge (through the plantation) and Hathersage. The plan is to go up by the Glider Club and on to Shatton.

Looks like the road through North Lees Campsite and onto Birley lane is the most straight forward.

How naughty is the FP that passes through Brookfield Manor and onto Baulk Lane

Open to ideas without adding lots of miles and don't want to pee people off riding FP's across their lawn or private driveway

Very naughty. I've always struggled to find a decent drop there - there are a couple of permissive bridleways doing off the hill, although I can't remember exactly where. For variation, how about going round on the road a bit and nipping through nether Hurst on that BW above Thorpe farm? IIRC there's a dairy there too ๐Ÿ™‚

I'd recommend keeping it legal and riding down Bamford Clough but that's currently closed ๐Ÿ˜‰

Then take "The Hollow" at the back of Bamford to get down to Shatton and then ride the long traffic-free climb up to the mast rather than climbing on the road passing the gliding club.

Pook's bridleway up from Nether Hurst back to the road always involves a push for me!

Can't you just change gears?

I would go high and up over the "permissive" bridleways of mother cap and padley gorge ๐Ÿ˜‰

There's a permissive BW that goes down the back of the toilets near the Plantation carpark that drops down through North Lees Hall to the lower road, but it's not massively exciting (mostly tarmac), then you're on tarmac all the way down to Hathersage, unless you use Hurstclough lane down into Bamford instead, then up Shatton Lane to the glider club.

Given it becomes a driveway and then a road half way down I don't think it is at all naughty. I don't go that way very often but when I do I take this option. The path through North Lees is I think a permissive BW. Although the signage is woeful, i.e. missing. So might not be.

But rather than going up to the gliding club, best going via Offerton Hall and Shatton. Perhaps.

Take the road over to Houndkirk, straight over and into Blacka. Then pick up the road and freewheel into Hathersage.

Utterly useless in terms of getting there directly, but plenty of smiles on the way.

Thanks.

We'll be going up Hurst Clough from Bamford onto Stanage from West to East so don't want to go back down the same way.

Mother Cap and then a bit of Tarmac in to Hathersage sounds Fav so far. (Cheers Rob ;-)You about on Sat btw??)

Plan to climb up past Offerton Hall and bear Left up to Shatton.

Any more ideas
