Hi

I will be staying near Dent next week with my better half and hope to be able to do a couple of mtb rides. Nothing much more than 2-3 hours riding maximum.

Anybody able to advise me?

Cheers

Dent - Cowgill - follow road under viaduct - BW across/down Gayle Moor - Gearstones Lodge - Ribblehead - BW north alongside Ribblehead viaduct - up to Great Wold - lovely descent down BW and then roll into Dent on the minor road. Tea shops at west end of town are nicer than the ones in the village centre

If you're super fit add another 300m of climbing by going from Cowgill up past train station then on to BW along Brant Side & Wold Fell to the first BW above

route 2:
Dent - Deepdale (nasty b*stard road climb) - Kingsdale - BW to Twistleton Scars - Scales Moor - along BW to Ribblehead Viaduct then turn left - BW north alongside Ribblehead viaduct - up to Great Wold - lovely descent down BW and then roll into Dent on the minor road

This is a nice ride, quite long but can be shortened by just using the Kingsdale Road at point 5.

Head out towards Sedburgh and then climb up on the road to Barbondale tunr left onto the BW that runs over the top and go down the second BW onto the Deepdale road )not the first one into the centre of Dent. Its a cracking descent and quite rocky. When you join the road abandon all hope as you turn right and climb mercilessly up Deepdale until it relents a little. Hang a right onto the BW and go through Foul Moss, which is true to its name. Keep going along the BW and go past the BW you went down and then take a right down the BW into Dent and roll into the George and Dragon and drink Dent Brewery's finest ales.
