Mine need bleeding but I just can't be bothered if it ain't too dear at a LBS
Could also do with shortening one hose while its in.
Magura Louise BAT's
We do £20 an end. Average rate.
This would normally be classed as a Brake Service by your shop and would normally include a full inspection and the like being carried out.
Pistons would be cleaned as necessary as there is zero point bleeding a brake that is going to be a pest again.
If you like tinkering it's worth buying a bleed kit and having a go. It's not hard and is satisfying knowing you can sort out any issued whenever you want
Ah misunderstood title, was going to say until they don't need bleeding anymore.
Yeah £20-25 an end is about right.
But it is a good skill to have, worthwhile getting a bleed kit and having a bash.
What brakes are they out of interest.
I have bled my brakes since I had hydraulics, got a bleed kit, just thought that, as I am lazy and if it was cheap enough, I would get someone else to sort it out. They might even do a better job than I have done in the past.
As its £20 an end and I have 2 bikes, I started it myself with one front end yesterday as well as shortening the hose that's never been trimmed....
I may be lazy but I'm not loaded and can't afford £80 on brake fettling.
Cheers for advice though.
Magura Louise BATS on one & Magura Louise FR's on 'tother
Just bled my Tektro's (after getting some fluid today - Cheers TBC!) did it in 20mins with a 7mm ring spanner and a short length of fish tank hose (cheap as chips from local pet shop). Now back up to full braking strength. Go-on have a bash!
