Looking for a new roller bag ready for next years biking trips.
Been looking at the Dakine split roller 110L
https://www.hypedsports.com/dakine-travel-split-roller-110-litre-luggage-bag-tamarindo/?CATARGETID=720013850000000411&cadevice=c&gclid=Cj0KCQiArqPgBRCRARIsAPwlHoVUWl7rERZPgqYt6uMVam4Oe-XQI6v_0_YIk7U80QOeuWIRLO1eq0YaAgYVEALw_wcB
And the Evoc World Traveler 125L
https://www.evocsports.com/products/bags/world-traveller

My Evoc bike bag has been pretty good and taken a fair bashing over a few years and Mrsstu has a Dakine roller duffel bag that's also stood the test of time.
So anyone have either of the two bags I've linked to?
Any opinions on which to go for?

Looked at both. Bought an Osprey instead. It's been around the world a couple of times, in and out of airports, and it's flawless.

What you linking to stoner???
Had a world traveller for the last 4 years, it's been around the world about 4 times now, been used monthly for a couple of years, literally on planes trains and automobiles all over. The big wheels are a bonus (makes the luggage come alive TM) stable, easy to pack, light for the size and protects stuff really well. Only current niggle is the handle isn't tall enough to go up the back of the laptop bag.

Massive plus is also get a decent colour and it's easy to spot on the baggage carousel.

Have you looked the TNF Rolling Thunder Bags? If you have an outlet place nearby they are a good bet.

@singlespeedstu

I have the Dakine Split Roller. Use it for biking trips and it works a treat. Can get full face, pads and clothes in there no problem. Enough for a week in the Alps at least. I do of course put some stuff in the bike bag too, to split liability from the airlines etc:

Its not too big to lift when full either. Mines the two tone brown version.

I have both the Dakine Split Roller and the EVOC World Traveler. Rate the EVOC over the Dakine, a really nice solid well-featured bag which rolls really nicely. Can't go wrong with either, but the EVOC wins IMHO.

The Dakine needs extra space to pack / unpack as you need to open it fully out.
May not be an issue, but it always annoys me when I'm packing our similar Eastpak bags.
And then I forget about it until the next time ๐Ÿ™‚

I've got that Carnac one, needed an extra bag for overflow / family stuff when I went to NZ. It is very basic, no real structure to it so it just bends when you're trying to roll it unless it's full. It is pretty light, rolls up for storage and survived the trip OK. Doesn't offer much in the way of protection to the contents though!

I bought a Burton split roller copy that I used this year and not impressed.
Unless it is fully rammed with kit it is not stable - wish I went with the Dakine that my GF used.

Thanks all.
Looks like tossing a coin between the Evoc and the Dakine then as i though it would be.
Either that or let Santa chose for me.

Problem with the north face rolling thunders is the weight. The big one weighs nearly 5kg I think.

So does the Evoc world traveller (I just (well 6 hrs ago) ordered one off sportpursuit.com as a result of this tread). Christmas present from my wife sorted ๐Ÿ™‚

We have had one of the Dakines for years. Originally bought it when we were doing a lot of windsurfing and snowboarding. Got a couple of their board bags as well. They have all had a lot of use and abuse. Its now been handed down to our daughter since she busted half a wheel off her bag in Canada
