Rolhoff for gravel riding?

That's the Alfine off my list. No chance I'd accept 10% losses, nor the spongy roller cluches

The Rohoff... hmm, 5% is perhaps more than I could handle too, but I wonder weather it would be that much for me. My longer rides tend to be quite hilly, so I spend a lot of time in my upper gears, which feel pretty inefficient already

So last question(s) @trail_rat, if you don't mind: what sort of trails were you loosing 5% on: mtb? Hilly? Are you a
high torque or high candance rider? And was the hub worn in?

for purposes of control - it was done on sheltered road.

hub should be worn in it was used for commuting 2004-2009 C~ 8000miles

typically a high cadence rider unless im on my singlespeed.
