thinking of this for the new ebike but dont' seem to be any reviews about? Effective? heavy? Does it stay in place?

The FAQ says it's 165g, and uses 3M VHB. VHB is damn strong, however this has 4 smallish squares of it compared to common type guards whose entire backs make full adhesive contact with the frame.

Ask them to send one to STW, or ask STW to ask for one?

Id worry about mud living behind it and destroying the paint- maybe if it had foam to fill any gap and lock it stopping vibrations

@jkomo Ithought the same but they have made it removable for cleaning. Bit of extra faff though.

I've bought one to try - it looks good value compared to https://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/anyone-used-gnartec-down-tube-protection-kit/#post-11865223. Will report back in time.

It's going to go on a frame that's been invisi-framed with should protect the paint. (and could always stick a extra strip of heritape down there...

My battery cover comes off after every ride to take battery out so unless this can be used with straps it’s not ideal

I emailed then yesterday to ask if it would stick to invisiframe. They got back today to confirm it will.
