is this a new crush washer or something else and if I unscrew it to replace will it go back in without an issue

It comes from the rebound damper and you'll need a new one, there are other threads on here about it if you remove the rebound adjusting key and look up inside the socket is it red or blue, the colour will let you know if it's the dodgy damper or not just can't remmember which is which, if you find the other thread it will tell you.
