After speaking to someone yesterday who has done regular lower leg oil changes on his 12 month old RS revelations and has now got some wearing of their fork stanchions I thought i'd ask a couple of questions on here...
How often should the fork seals be changed?
Is it OK to do a couple of lower leg oil changes before replacing the seals, or should you really replace them each time?
Cheers
I only replace seals if they leak. You can do as many oil changes as you like before that happens!
Technically, I'd imagine the more you do, the longer they'll last. Better lubed, see? ๐
Like what Peter says.
The RS forks I've owned (since SRAM) over the years have been fine.
The worst thing to do is ride them without wiping off the dried on film of mud from the last ride. Thats worse than failing to service the semi-bath lube IMO.
Cheers guys. Will I certainly give them a good clean after each ride and use some wet lube around the seal to try and clear them out of c***.
Hopefully mine will be ok.
Cheers
Martyn
I've seen SO many RS forks with more wear on one leg than the other. Always seems to be the side without the height markings on the leg. What is going on?
