Have serviced Reba's and only last week serviced my girlfriends Sid's. The shaft bolts took a bit of bashing to release the press fit but they came loose in the end but my Sid's are having none of it. I have bashed the hell out of these bolts now but they are not budging. Does anyone know any tricks ? I'm starting to lose my rag and in danger of just smashing them up the wall !
Have you let all the air out?
Yep
I've had this problem before.

Can be difficult but key is shaft has bindered to lowers so the key is holding lowers firmly whilst hitting bolts in turn. Easiest way ive found with stubborn ones is fork upside down, top steerer on floor then somebody else to hold firmly each lower leg in turn and don't use lower's arch to brace fork
At the moment I've got the fork upside down resting on the steerer and take it from me if I hit it any harder something is going to break !
Boil kettle hot water over fork ends then go back to ****ing the bolts
Thanks for that tip I've been at it now since 7 pm ! Last week took about half an hour to get the missus fork to budge but this is taking the piss this going keep up all night if I don't crack it soon !
They're off thank **** the hot water and grabbing the lowers with my under the crown did the trick ! Thanks for the tip I can't tell you how relieved I am !
Nice one glad to hear it
