Spec seems pretty good on the bike (I’m looking at the 2020 version) but I have never owned one before, maybe I have a touch of bike snobbery as to why I haven’t given it a look.

Out the two bikes that my son is interested in (other one being a Vitus Mythique 2021) the Rockrider seems to be a bit more aggressive.

I can get both pretty local to me so just after some thoughts really which one is better - I think cosmetically he prefers the Vitus however he is starting to want to do jumps/drops and gaps and does case a lot 🙂

Thoughts on the Rockrider?

No thoughts or experiences other than the high end XC bikes from Rockrider are supposed to be good! They have bikes in the XCO world cups so I would imagine the bigger bikes are probably good as well.

If he wants to do jumps and drops, and cases a lot, then the more aggressive bike might be a better option.

Decathlon bikes are generally very good, and offer cracking value. Can't comment on that exact model, but I doubt you'll go far wrong.

He had a Marin Hawk Hill before and the components on it were average.

Its only the frame I don’t know anything about the rest of the bike seems great value.

All being well I’m picking it up this week for £650

Decathlon make some decent bikes. They used to have weird styling but the recent ones look a lot better. I'd definitely pick one up if I was on a budget.
