i want to use my CX bike pretty much exclusively on the road for a while, and wanted to put some half decent road biased tyres on there... at 1st i was going to put on some GP 4000s 700x28, but i've been to ld that the rim i've got (WTB i19) is too wide and wouldn't take the kind of pressure required for that tyre... so has anyone got any suggestions?
28s should be fine on a 19mm rim...
Some have been going potty about those £15/20 Vittoria Voyager Hyper folding, while the 35c Kojaks for £20 are a good price at PX too.
The i19 has an internal width of 19...suggesting 28c+ tyres, I am happily running 25mm tyres on mine at 85 psi and am still alive
Are the rims tubeless compatible?
Schwalbe pro ones ftw if so...
Conti do the gatorskin hardshell (maybe even a normal gator) in 32c.
Schwalbe S-One for a faster option comes in 30c

Just what I wanted to hear.... thanks 700x28 GPs ordered 🙂
I run 25c tyres on a 19mm rim. It's absolutely fine.
