[#3156035]

I'm doing up an oldish road bike and have bought some wheels that need tub's.

I've never had anything to do with tubs in any way so I'm after some advice.

How do you fit them?

What tubs would you recommend for general road use?

Any other advice greatly appreciated

Thanks

Ken

Just get the cheap offerings if they're not for racing.

I've not used tub tape only cement. Put a thin layer on the rim and leave to dry off.
You can gently stretch a new tub, but don't go mad.
Apply more cement and fit tub, and you're good to go.

Buy two more and after the first ones have done a few rides remove them and fit the new ones using more cement.
Kepp the pre used ones as spares, as they'll be easier to fit roadside.
I trained on cheap Wolber Neo Pros. I kept two folded under the saddle.
Never ever had any problems.

For tooling around on Tufo tubs using their tape work well, also put a scoop of Stans in every 3 or 4 months.

Conti Sprinters are decent cheapish ones.
