[#4275081]

I picked up a Giant SCR 3.0 2007 for next to nowt and I would like to build it up as a roadie / commuter / cross (all three disciplines I have no experience of). Can anyone offer any advice as to what second hand components to bung on it, limited budget!

Something like this?

Well you won't really be able to ride cross on it for a starters. For commuting some lights might be helpful?

How about telling us what it needs? Has it got wheels?

RealMan, Why no good for tri-cross?

Needs wheels, crank, front and rear mech.

Going to need to tell us what shifters it has though otherwise advice is hard.

brakes are in the wrong place / wrong type, it has caliper brakes, for CX you use canti's, mini-v's or discs, not calipers

As with others, is it Campagnolo/SRAM/Shimano/other, 8/9/10/11 speed?

NO good for cx cos it can't take big enough tyres.

COmmuting: lights and mudguards.
