I was out yesterday cruising along the Surrey lanes on my Boardman hybrid but I kept on getting passed by roadies like I was going backwards. I don't really want to get a road bike but I thought another solution might be to fit road tyres to my hybrid. Is this possible or would the hybrid rims not be compatible with thin road tyres?

You could probably get away with some 25 or 28mm tyres. Get some lightweight ones like Conti 4 seasons.
May not stop you getting passed though. Road bikes have a slightly more aero riding position and are likely to be a kilo or 2 lighter than what you have.

Did you enjoy your ride?
If "yes" don't worry about the tyres ๐
