I had a great time in Mallorca in the spring, and I'm hoping to do something similar next year, but maybe in a different location.

Can anyone recommend somewhere which has similar good quality roads, a mix of terrain and isn't too expensive.

I'm thinking may parts of Portugal or a large Greek Island - any ideas?

The western isles tour is a possible, but there is a certain attraction of somewhere warm and sunny as well.

Have never been to Mallorca but if you want some of the best road riding, coast roads, gorges, mountains, lakes, forests and dodging the occasional wild pigs then try Corsica.

Of course I'm biased but how about the Basque Country? Weather could be a lottery in spring though if that worries you. Fuerteventura? Gerona?

I've ridden in Fuerteventura and the roads are perfect, the locals respect you (tourists are numpties) but there is only one hill and on a final positive note, it's impossible to get lost.

Tenerife. There's a good ride up that mountain in the middle to get you legs in shape.

Why not go back to Mallorca? I've ridden there lots and struggle to think of anywhere with such a varied, compact web of small roads with a pro-cycling infrastructure (Canaries and Corsica included). That said, I'd like to explore around Lucca in Tuscany next or Finale Ligure.

Try the algarve I know a couple of people who have done training camps there.By all accounts the roads are pretty good and the weather is good too.
