[Closed] Road front derailleur operated by lockout lever/trigger shifter on mtb?

I've got a 50/34 crankset on its way to me, to be fitted to my rigid flat barred mtb. Due to the size and gap of the chainrings I reckon I'll need to use a road mech, either Dura Ace or SRAM Red. As it's only a double I was thinking of using a lockout lever to operate the front mech to save weight, do people reckon this will be possible, and if so is there a particular model of front mech that would be best? If the lockout lever method is untenable would a standard mtb trigger shifter work? I'll be needing a 34.9mm clamp top pull mech by the way. Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

A friction shifter will do it.

I did this with a Force mech. Worked ok, but you can't tease it in to gear, if you need to. It should work with any mech, really.
