Need to replace my xl Road frame with a more suitable medium. Watching a few on ebay but is there anywhere else more suitable?

Medium as in material or size? Cycle exchange are excellent. What are you looking for? I like eBay too, if you know what you want.

Medium in size. Have got a few planet x pro carbons in the watch list. Budget is around the £150 region, out for a pootle kind of riding so nothing too high end necessary.

Had a look at the Kingston site but a bit beyond my modest savings.

I've sometimes found it more economical to buy a full bike and sell the parts, that can subsidise the cost of the frame in the end.

Decent cycle club. Thriving market in second hand stuff in ours, usually with a healthy "mates rates" price tag

At 5 10 I seem to fit between medium and large so can feel a bit of a gamble. Have looked at the brand x frame but current brakes are short drop.

Buying a complete bike may be the way forward, was going to sell the specialized as a frameset but could always swap bits over and sell as a whole.

Facebook for local cycle clubs?

You know Giant do a M/L frame size?

Defy or TCR probably what you're after, there are soooo many Defys out there particularly, you should be spoiled for choice.

Had a couple of defys on the watch list as well. Any particular year defy to look out for?

I'm not the expert (TiRed above is the forum's leading Giant enthusiast), but I had a 2014 Defy Advanced and it would still be a fine bike now - easily taking 25mm tyres.

Wasn't quite the bike for me and I went back to a Scott CR1 SL (I probably would have preferred the racier TCR). They are popular for a reason though, it was very comfy and easy to ride and totally inoffensive.

Had a look at a couple of defy frames but the pf bottom bracket put me off as already have 105 bb and chainset.

Won the px carbon Pro, paid a bit more than I wanted to but less than I was prepared to so a good result.

Your a medium in Giant (with a longer than stock 110 to 120 mm stem for a Defy or a 100 mm TCR). A non carbon Defy frame will be £150 new. It will ride as well as a £3k Carbon one. Don’t ask me how I know 🙂 . A used carbon TCR will be more than this. Great frames if you find one. I gave my old alloy one to a club mate.
