I have a real concern about some damage on my road forks. They may not be shagged but I'm not at all confident descending at speed with them currently. Does anyone have any reasonably priced recommendations for replacements or any advice on what to look for?

Alpina forks are dirt cheap and good quality, if your buying new, they are a a little on the heavy side.

The thing with carbon road forks now is that you can buy them so cheap. Some of the pairs on ebay go for nothing, you just have to be persistent. Most are really durable as well but I would go for an aluminium steerer if it's going on a hack.

Eastons are the best quality and most durable ones I've come across lately.

I have a pair of carbons off a scott CR1 for sale. What is your price range?

£60 and they are yours, can get you some pictures, if you want to google search them they are the ones off the Scott CR1 in black and white, with a small bit of yellow.. They have a long steerer.

Cheers

Tom
