Fancy one of these to replace the stock Shimano R600 that came on my road bike.
Would it work OK with my 105 FD and KMC X10SL chain, and would it be a worthwhile upgrade in terms of stiffness etc?
Anything better out there for around the same price?
I doubt you'll notice any increase in stiffness, but then I'm not the sort who would spend £275 on cranks!
Fair enough, but I'm not the sort who'd spend £300 on shoes, £500 on forks etc. 😉
Erm...me neither.
Why upgrade your chainset? Seems to be a very odd choice which will have little in the way of either performance or bling benefit.
...and carbon cranks... Hmmm, bonding and heel rub issues would put me off.
Probably not, but there are plenty here that will!
Anyway, thoughts...anyone?
Why upgrade your chainset?
That's sort of what I'm asking, would it be a worthwhile upgrade?!
IMO, no, for the reason above, but it depends what you are looking for. Stuff like wheels are things you may feel (even if they don't make you faster)
Ah, if that's the question, my answer is no.
I'd be looking at shifters, then wheels, then tyres, then saddle, then brakes, then derailleurs, then chainset. But I'd probably buy new clothes and shoes before the chainset.
Cheers.
Wheels are definitely a priority upgrade, I just stumbled across these cranks and thought it looked a good offer.
I'm sorted for clothes and shoes ta!
