I have had a look on bike radar and ebay but there doesn't seam to be much for sale can anyone point me in the direction of a few roadbike forums or the like, the have classifieds.

Good question! Where are last years flashy carbon ones?
in a hedge after that celebrity chef ran them off the road?
Old road bikes get cherished, not chucked or flogged on like last years big thing in the MTB world.
They get used as training bikes, or get passed on to younger riders, or sometimes sold in the back of Cycling Weekly.
My last two have been given away to mates, one in Aus, one down the road.
Iain, ebay is always a bit quiet with road bikes at this time of year, as its a month when few people have money, and the market is more limited, esp with the weather we have had.
Best bet wait until feb/march and a few more will appear.
+1 for what crikey said ^^.
Some riders will hang onto them for sentimental reasons or 'retire' their good frame/bike into winter training duties, wheels sometimes get passed onto a season or two of CX before being binned or some riders will put 'old' wheels into a club wheel fund as spares that anyone can use if need be. Roadies are traditionally much more club-orientated than MTBers so there's always younger riders around who'll benefit from cheap/free parts being passed down. In fact my gf's good road bike was built from mostly S/H parts from her clubmates and it's a really nice bike, some lovely kit on there!
Components last much longer than MTB ones do so just tend to be run into the ground then binned or sometimes they're transferred between bikes - 2 seasons on a race bike then moved onto the winter one and run until they die!
I've one for sale but been shocked looking on ebay how cheap the're going for. Half original price for 6 month old while in March last year when I was seeing 3 or 4 year old bikes was going for 10% less than the new equiverlent.
Reckon everyon is hanging back like me.
most end up mangled beyond repair after their owner has been hit/run off the road by one of britains bike-aware motorists..... 😀
Spring into early summer is the period that always seems ot command the most interest/highest 2nd hand prices.
There's the odd one that crops up on various sites at this time of year, I've noticed theres generally more frames for sale as people keep their gruppos and change the frame, they (the gruppos) don't get battered like they do on a MTB
Real road riders snap their road frames with excess power.

Then they go to the skip where some feral chap pulls it out drags it to the local scrap merchant where 853 is worth a fortune.
samuri -> BEHOLD your awesome power
or massive belly 😀
very funny myheadsashed
Road bikes, (celeb chefs and the other badly driving retards aside), have a longer life than MTB's and my old road bike is on the turbo now. Everything generally lasts longer than on an MTB too, so cheap miles in general. 1 chain = 2,000 miles if looked after! I'd also only get £150 or less for the winter bike so will be damned if I'm selling it!
