As tight as you'd do on your mountain bike or do i need to go carefully (carbon forks, titanium frame)?

Ta.

OK thanks. I've had no problem with mountain bike skewers over the years, you get that 'feel' for too tight/too slack. On the advise of another I've been running my road bike skewers with less tension but have suffered all manner of creaks. This evening I applied a little grease around the dropouts and tightened them to 'usual' tightness. We'll see if it does the job tomorrow but I just thought I'd ask the wise in case they should be run with less tension.

Same as per mountain bike. As long as the axle is sat square in the holders, then as tight as you like.

Grease - on dropouts? I hope that you're not going to be using my taxes to pay for your upcoming A&E visit.

Why would smearing a bit of grease on the drop out make it in any way dangerous?
