What levers would I need to run cable discs like BB7's or BB5's with 9 speed Shimano road gearing?

Standard (mountain) BB7s etc are designed to be used with V brake style levers, these pull more cable than roadie brakes. To fix the problem, or to use V brakes with drop bars there are a couple of lever sets you can use which pull more cable. Dia-compe 287V are one type. This doesn't help if you want to use STIs, for that Avid have brought out BB7Road version which are designed to work with the cable pull of regular road brakes. Others are now available too.
