I get a little confused at times as to whether 29ers and 700c CX type tyres are compatible so thought i'd ask before ordering the wrong things.

Need something for 90% road and maybe 10% bridleway stuff so i can keep the Racing Ralphs for just the off-road stuff. But there are times when it has been wet overnight on the trails and i simply don't fancy mud, so hit the road for 25 miles or so....

With that in mind.... what tyres are recommended ?

any 700c tyre will work for you.

A nice pliable semi slick or lightly treaded tyre lie SB8 should do the job, 28-32c.

most road tyres will be fine on bridleway stuff, but you may puncture more.
I would just get a decent road tyre in 25 if your riding 90% road

For honc I used a Ralph and Ron in 1.3 on my stans 29er wheels
And they worked in the mud but also fine on the road
