I've just finished building a TT bike with a shimano rear mech and some shifters from Ebay. THe shifting isn't quite as slick as i'd like, and it coudl be the cables. But something that occured to me was that perhaps the shifters are actually SRAM.
Is the cable pull throw on SRAM bar shifters different to shimano and would that mess up the shifting? it's pretty slick in one way, but coming back down it's not great. So it's not grossly out, jsut enough to eb a bit annoying.
I remember in teh old days you coudl cable the rear mech differently to get a slightly different throw.
Any ideas on what to check/change to make it work

Yup, pull is different. I replaced my dura ace with TT500 so I could get a clutch mech. - CX, not TT bike, obvs! You might be able to get some sort of jiffler to convert the pull. Lindarets? Is that the company that does them?
Shifting's fine, a bit stiffer than the shimano, but I don't whether that's entirely, or only partly due to the clutch mech.
Guessing you've adjusted it to death already?

And FWIW TT bike cable routing is a pain in the arse. It's the first bike i've had in (literally) decades that i can't get to shift cleanly.
neither SRAM or Shimano written on them.
red caps, but no SRAM written on the levers. No idea of the model number. i bought them as shimano.
Maybe just more fettling required. I've put some nokon cables on so maybe i'll try putting some standard gear cable on to reduce the compressibility

they're definitely shimano pull
Re shifting can say that di2 on a road bike is a nice to have, but on a TT bike it's bloody brilliant.
