I've just been sent an email about consultation on improvements to the Terraced Gardens. Here's what it said:
'Rivington Heritage Trust are hoping to contact users of the Bungalow grounds (Terraced Gardens) at Rivington with a view to consulting on improvements there. At the last meeting of the consultation group there were some views regarding cycling there. I pointed out the cyclists could also benefit and should have the same rights of access as others. Groundwork are the party who have been doing a lot of repair work up there. The contact for the consultation is:
Lucy West
Development Officer
Groundwork Lancashire West & Wigan
Telephone 01942821444
Mobile 07738640784
The web site for the Rivington Heritage Trust is:
http://www.rivingtonheritagetrust.co.uk/
info@rivingtonheritagetrust.co.uk'
While I have a route guide published online covering Rivington Pike I'm not exactly local, although I am going to respond as see what this is about. However, if you are local you might want to get involved as well.
Trails need repaired - awful bumpy and rocky when I was there

thanks for that collin i will give her a ring whats happened to your website mate.
It's still going but there's been a few changes over the last couple of years. My website is now www.flattyres-mtb.co.uk, with my rides and skills training info on. All of my free route guides are now on the website of the Edge Cycleworks, www.theedgecycleworks.com, who I am now working in partnership with.
Hopefully both websites will be amalgamated soon to bring everything into one nice, neat package.
surely there is only one leagl route through the gardens so the improvements would have no effect on this/where we can legally ride.
I find it highly unlikely they will improve the cheeky trails for us
thanks for your efforts though - when/where do they meet as I cycle and walk there
I will send my views though and cheers for the link/info
