Having tested my front wheel to destruction over the weekend I need a new rim.
I fancy replacing it myself using the tape rims together and swap one spoke at a time method.
Do I need to use identical rims? As I rather fancy changing from a Mavic 719 to a Stans rim, probably flow.
Cheers in advance wise ones.

ERD measurement of the new rim must be very very similar to the old or it's new spokes time. Within 1 or 2mm I guess.

take rim and hub to LBS. get them to work out the spoke length needed. use the "rims-taped-together" method, but replace the spokes as you go.
besides... if the rim is trashed, the old spokes have probably been weakened.
