I want to change the fork on my 2004/5 Stumpjumper HT for a rigid fork as this is now my commuting bike and I want to really lighten it up. It currently has a Marzocchi Bomber on it (only fork I could afford when original fork broke!) I cannot afford more than £100 if this is possible.

Any recomendations would be greatfully received. Thanks.

A wtd ad for some On-One carbons or Exotic carbons will net you some for £70-£80. Will shave at least 2lb off it.

The eXotics are excellent and you won't miss your suspension fork, I sold my Rebas on Ebay.

My default answer... Salsa Cromotos. Do em in a shorter (than mine) length so shouldn't muck up the geometry on your Stumpy too much either.

+1 for the cromotos. Got them on my Genesis IO singlespeed. Lovely forks.

I had the carbon exotic 29er fork on my Chameleon for winter commuting duties and they are great. They're going on sale shortly due to a change of bike if you're interested - £40.
