Think i've got it down to 2 models....

Elixir CR carbon

and

Elixir 9 carbon

i think the '9's' are newer models but apart from that i've not got a clue....... โ“

Does anyone have any opinions on these 2 models they would like to share?

cheers

I'd go the Elixir 9's. The old CR's had issues that made them a nightmare to bleed.

Why Avids specifically?
Fiddly, horrible, unreliable nightmare IMHO of course.

(Cue someone coming along whose had them on a bike trouble-free for 57 years...)

LBS would do anything more tricky than replacing pads! ๐Ÿ˜€

Price mainly but i've also had Juicy 5 and 7's in the past and thought they were pretty powerful brakes. They would be more of a stop-gap as i just noticed i have a broken lever on my Marta mag SL's ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Buy something else (better) Hope or Shimano spring to mind as good options!
