Flashy, can you mail me, my email is in my profile, I can give you my address to send the lights on to me...once your done melting rabbits, the universe and everything.
spider eyes is indeed with me.
I'll give it a test in the lab over the next couple of days and ride with it tomorrow.
If you happen to be around peebles Wed evening be warned.
2 riders, one with a liberator and the spider eyes, one with the Dominator and a single XML on the head.
I reckon that will over 6000 lumens when we are on full beam.
Toons, I'll post spider eyes to you at the end of this week.
trout, was just wondering what the batteries are like for your lights? would they be easy to mount securely to my skinny duster (as my stem is only 70mm) to my new bike (well new since august 😉 also what is your most powerful light that you sell and how much with an endurance battery.oh and can you give me the 6 winning lottery numbers for next week 😉 thanks 🙂
heres a pic of the endurance battery

approx 50mm x 50 mm x 150 mm
some folks fix it to the seat post not good if uppy downy
usually somewhere it will fit on most frames
the most powerful [s]handgun[/s] light is the Dominator

Just took delivery of the new Dominator. Looks superbly put together, feels great quality and tested in my garage it nearly blinded me on Max, the garage was ridiculously bright. Can't wait to test out on trails on thursday evening.
Anyone thinking of buying then do so. 🙂
Andy RT, YGM.
Sven last night had the Liberator, that was "quite" bright, lovely spread ideal for bars, riding round here.....
proper bags 'atlast' 8)
Ok, just done the dark garden test. My Dominator has 5 settings (standard battery), low would certainly be ok for road use middle setting would be plenty for most off road excursions but the 4th and 5th setting give a massive amount of light. Very pleased with the light spread and throw too.
Roll on first ride out 🙂
Just took mine out for a couple of hours on the downs.
I set mine up in uib2 duo mode, switching between 3000mA & the default. At the higher mode it's bonkers bright. Low mode was fine for climbs & pootling along wide paths. Just under 2 hours riding just about exhausted a Lumi 2.6AH battery.
Fully agree with the comments about the ideal light spread. The beam is wide but has good throw.
I'm very impressed. Definitely recommended.
I hate you but at the same time love you!!!! Just ordered my dominator after an annoying hour fitting some plastic makeshift bottle mount things to my orange five. The bloody dog ate the instructions and they were not straight forward to put on. Having assessed the plastic things will hold a bottle battery I have just ordered my dominator,
Having seen the picture above I can now take the plastic shite off my 5 and look forward to a good winter of night rides., a wasted hour compounded by a wife laughing at my cursing the dog will hopefully be compensated by a quality piece of kit.
Cheers trout
I am having email problems
virgin media email platform is wonky tonight
so will check emails when its fixed. their sites says 12.00 tomorrow
seems like it is being well received 😆
thanks trout 🙂 it's a toss up between your dominator light and an exposure mark 2 six pack (sorry 😳 the reason being,i don't have a credit card/cheque book,i know that the bike shop i go to can get exposure lights (can pay instalments with them/love the idea of it all in one battery/light).but i must admit to being very taken with your lights (you are obviously a light genius 😉 seeing some of the pictures of your super bright lights (showing how far they light the trail) awesome 😀 as it is going to take me around 16-20 weeks to save £450,might you have any brighter ones for sale by then?and apologies for all the questions 😳
Thanks Callum it will be in the post today 😀
Emails are working again now to sort the backlog .
Raceface
Thanks is the sixpack £450 😯
I dont think there will be anythink brighter on the horizon
this one is a bit OTT on full 😆
I had the pleasure of having both the Spider Eyes and the "Dominator" at the same time the other week.....I was curious as to what the lumen output with both was? It was an insane amount of light. 😯
I found the Dominator was fine on low for road and off road climbs and then med for anything else, even the downs....I only used the boost a couple of times cos it was raining and there was a little too much glare back from the wet. 🙁
I did (just for a laugh) run them both up on boost down a dark tree covered s.track (down to seldom seen) and i can honestly say there would be no point in having anything brighter as it would ust be wasted light (if you know what i mean).
The finnished item is looking really nice BTW...Excellent work Chris! 😛
both on boost would be in the region of 4000 lumens, but lumens are not the whole story...
Well, completed my first ride with the Dominator tonight around our local loop. Must say i am over the moon with the light, used it mainly on the mid setting Level 3 which was ideal for the twisty trails, next 2 levels up were immense and boost was utterly mad. the light gives a great even spread, no hot spots and didn't seem to lack anything. My riding buds were gob smacked by the lights power.
One very happy troutie customer here 🙂
I've dropped "high" current on mine down to 2.8A. Can't say i can notice the difference between that & 3A, but it's less drain on the battery. Tonight i did a slightly longer loop than tues, but with way less use of the high current setting i easily got a 2 hour ride with the 2.6AH battery.
Looks ace Mr Trout. Ace.
Trout, I have a 2 x 20W Lumicycle Halogen setup with massive endurance 6ah battery. So, am I right in thinking you do a Lumicycle battery crossover lead? I expect the battery is complete overkill for LED tech for a few hours night riding above Bingley, but it's all good to covert, right?
B.A.Nana
That is a perfect battery for the Dominator and yes will do a crossover lead no problem
you ride past my house nearly every day so pop in and give one a try out 😉
Well, just got in from testing mine, and it's stunning. Can't honestly see myself needing anything more.
Hey up Milkybar kid
How did you get on at Dusk till Dawn with the light
Excellent we won the 4 man team i did not see any light as bright as this one,i did send you a mail a while ago did you not get it?

Great result in what I believe were pretty bad conditions .
goes off to look for mail
Rode with the spider eyes last night!
The distance it covers is mental!!
Chris what is the green glow?
trout - i sent you an email a week or so ago regarding spider eyes/helmet light, did you get it......
Eye up Chris,
Forget my request to hold back a couple of minis - after reading this thread make that a tripple cutie and a mini.
I have to say that is a very compact and aesthetically pleasing lamp unit - I must have one.
To the borrowers (of the cutie)
Can we have more beam shots please?
Cheers
LT
🙂 Toons its glow in the dark paint inside the light just for a bit of fun . Where is it going after you have given it a thrashing .
Camerone , Sorry I have not seen owt but thats not to say it has not got here please resend while I have a search for it .
Love tubs
the milky bar kid has the cutie drop him your address and give it a try
trout - resent email just now.
cheers
To somebody called Pete (i don't have his STW username at the mo)
Cheers Toons
I wonder how many miles it has racked up so far via the postal service.
Trout I just sent you an email (well last night your your BY email) I wonder if it has disappeared?
I hope not! I want a go!!!
Trout - first ride tonight with the new DD light. Did the obligatory shine into the garden test and it it looks good.
Also did the old stare into the light to see how bright it is, i can confirm its bright.
Hopefully tonight I will see the full impact. The DD on the bars (2600 lumens) and an old D-star led light on the lid (1700 Lumens) should see me through the wyre forest ok.
remember the DD is 2600 real, measured lumens. Theoretical is 3600 lumens.
Chris, have you had a chance to build the other demo Cutie yet?
Sorry Cooie
as fast as I build them they get bought.
I have not even got one for my own bike at the moment
but now I have run out of batteries till a new delivery from smudge arrives so may just catch up and get it done this week .
Ok, no worries. I can wait. Cheers 🙂
Toon, I am Pete, so is flashes (work and home)
Pooh, getting excited as I'm after Flashy in the queue
