I'm going to be down in Keighley and Skipton for work Monday/Tuesday. Is it worth taking the bike? Are there any 1-2 hour loops I could do that I won't need a map/compass/sherpa for?

Yep loads mate. Bingley bash is well known with route guides all over the shop. Also a fair loop from skipton to riddlesden on the canal then back over the tops. that's quite a long one though!
