Also Llys y Fran for a quick blast
Some great (cheeky) coastal paths if you're brave (I'm not)
Nant Yr Arian is about an hour away, no iea if it's any good though.
Not a great deal around St David's - the coast path from Whitesands to Abereiddy is ok. Carn Ingli and the Preseli's have some short blasts that are worthwhile. Llys y fran is also ok but I can get round in about 30 mins. Rosebush has a few tracks you just need to know where you're going so you don't end up in the bottom of a quarry (if you go visit the cheese makers in Rosebush as well - I think Caws Preseli is an amazing cheese).
Most of the rides around Pembs off-road are short blasts or dicking about (Canaston Woods near Haverfordwest can be fun).
Road riding is great though with some beautiful coastal roads to go on.
NyA felt a tad more than an hour away but is very nice and worth a visit.
๐
An hour was a rough guess btw ๐
I'm heading up there in a few weeks, we are doing a two week tour of Wales and st davids is our only coastal stop.
Can you ride along coastal paths, if your just wanting to potter about and not do any serious riding. Or do walkers kick off and go mad?
Very close to the cliff edge is a bigger concern than any walkers
back now...!!
Very nice place but not a massive amount of riding to be had.
Gazerath, some of the coastal path would have made great riding, but even before the schools had broken up it was busy during the day. Whether you'd get grief from the day trippers I don't know, but some parts are quite narrow and unless you wanted to seriously annoy folks by blasting through I reckon it'd be a bit annoying to ride
Can recommend TYF adventure if you wanted to do some activities, wife did kayaking/coasteering and we both tried surfing, very funny!
The Bench in St Davids does great ice cream btw....
I think i might have to drop into St Davids on the way back from SSWC.
I spent loads of time down at Whitesands Bay as a kid and keep meaning to go back.
From what I remember it's a fantastic coastline down there.
You got any pictures?
Hi Stu,
Loads of pics, will sort some out for you later!
Fantastic. ๐
Beautiful part of the world! Used to live in Haverfordwest, and still miss those amazing beaches!
Down in St David's at the moment. Just back from dinner at the cafe at Whitesands.
Weather has been mixed, but not stopped us doing owt.
MartynS you were you the chap with the inbred and 2 x alined roadrats I was admiring the bike rack of (ooer missus) earlier today?

See that rock in the sand. That made a great bmx jump with a bit of sand piled up the bottom of it. ๐
geoffj,
not me! been back home for a couple of days. we had good weather! hope its not to bad for you.
love this part of the world
Ah Martyn thought it might have been. The bloke I spoke to was a dead cert for this place ๐

Coastal path is very cheeky at this time of year. Getting into conflict is fairly likely.
Preselis are damp again.
Brechfa not too far away.
Martyn.
That rock's still fun to ride over. ๐

I too went here a lot as a kid on holiday. Love the area. Great coastal walks and beaches. Just needs more bike paths.
For useless trivia, my dad's 2nd wife's brother built the first shop down at Whitesands...
