Cycling museum in L wells is worth a look if you have time to spare (and like old bikes). Not a lot else to do there.

Mach's not too far, neither is Nant-yr-Aryan. If you go to Rhayader, you must go up the Elan Valley to see the dams. They were built by the Victorians to supply water to Manchester or Birmingham, I forget which. The water travels by gravity all the way to the town, the dams are really something to see and there are bridleways all over, plus I think, a bike track. Check it out in the Visitor Centre.

Yep it's about ten miles away.
