My Wife and I are off to stay on Lake Garda next week for a friends wedding. We know the area is good for mountain biking but any tips/ideas/routes would be appreciated.
Due to the wedding we will only get 2 or 3 days riding so wondering whether to take our own bikes or hire them there. Again any suggestions would be welcomed.
We are staying in Malcesine near the botto of the gondola.

I came across this site recently (I think it might have been linked up on here by someone else).

I stayed there a few years back! was bloody lovely!

You can hire bikes from the shop near the base of the gondola but they were a little ropey, good brands/models but not greatly maintained and felt a bit tired.
There are several trails from the top of the gondola which were relatively easy to find and follow. This was about 4 years ago, things may have changed but I'd want my own bike to take next time. guess it depends how serious you are about the biking part. I defence of the bike shop they were very helpful with advise about the trails and had a well stocked shop!!
We had a fantastic time.
