Off to Abersoch this weekend and undecided whether to take sea fishing gear or bike for a bit of off road fun. I know the fishing can be good there but I've never really looked for off road tracks there and cant think of any off the top of my head. Can anyone recommend any decent tracks around the Abersoch area or should I stick with a few hours relaxing fishing?

Rorschach....I thought as much. Taken road bike a few times and I've no complaints there but cant recall seeing?hearing of any decent off road riding. Fishing it is for a few hours then, thanks.

Couple of nice bridleways over near Trefor, or you could always have a ride up the granite quarry from the quay there and down to the Welsh language centre. Nice caff.

The track below Bwich Mawr/Gyrn Ddu looks interesting:
Tried it twice - got stuck in the plantation to the west the first time, beaten back by terrible weather a couple of weeks ago.

Very slim pickings off-road. The odd little bit of bridleway, but nothing exciting. ISTR there's a cheeky descent from the top of Rhiw that can be fun. These days I take the road bike or the unicycle.

I was there last week, you can ride around Cilan hean but apart form that it's rubbish.

Went to Cyb and Llandegla but there're not exactly local.

Do you know any locals?

Warning: Vulgarsoch is where the nouveaux riches of Cheshire go to pose. You will almost certainly be knocked off by a WAG in an X5 or a Q7.

Eyerideit.....I dont know any locals (in Abersoch)to show me good places to ride if there are any so I'll take the rods instead. I live on the Wirral so Llandegla closer to me when I'm at home but not a fan of trail centres.

Globalti.....couldnt agree with you more, the friends caravan we stay in is about 5 miles out of Abersoch past Hells Mouth and we WILL NOT be venturing into Abersoch itself for the very reasons you mentioned.
